Robert Rodriguez is trying to bring ”The Jetsons” to life. According to MTV, Rodriguez said he’ll get working on a live-action updated version of the popular 60’s cartoon as soon as next year.
“The Originals” may become a family affair. The Hollywood Reporter says Bryce Dallas Howard co-wrote the script and may pass it along to her father Ron Howard to direct. Imagine will produce the film about a group of high school friends who reunite after finding out a favorite teacher is in a coma. The film isn’t only a father-daughter project, it’s also a soon-to-be brother-in-law/sister-in-law one as well. Bryce Dallas’ writing partner, Dane Charbeneau, is engaged to her sister Jocelyn.
James Franco impressed someone over at NYU. Variety reports that Franco is set to star in Jay Anania’s “In Praise of Shadows.” Anania is the head of NYU’s directing program; the same program where Franco recently completed his first year. Franco is simultaneously pursuing a master’s degree in English at Columbia University. He isn’t only doing double duty with his schoolwork, Franco will not only be starring in this film, but producing as well. His Rabbit Bandini Prods. banner will produce the film about William Vincent (Franco), a man who returns to New York City to save the woman he loves from a crime syndicate.
In other Franco news, Entertainment Weekly has the first image of him playing Allen Ginsberg in “Howl.” The film is about the controversy that developed after the publishing of Ginsberg’s poem “Howl,” which eventually made him a literary icon.
Alvin, Simon and Theodore aren’t the only singing chipmunks in “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel.”Jim Hill Media posted an image from the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas of the film’s poster revealing the Chipettes, Eleanor, Brittany and Jeanette.
“The A-Team” may really have a cast member. According to Variety, Liam Neeson is in negotiations to play Col. John ‘Hannibal’ Smith in the film based on the 1980s TV show. The debunking of the rumor that Bradley Cooper was going to play Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, may have been a major letdown, but it turns out that it may not have been entirely false. The article says the star of “The Hangover” is in early talks to play the role!
Nia Vardalos has a thing for romantic comedies, John Corbett … and Rachel Dratch. She’ll reunite with her “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” costar in another love story. Dratch, her co-star from “My Life in Ruins,” joins playing a goofy secondary role. “I Hate Valentines Day” is the story of a woman who deals with the pain of troublesome past relationships by applying a five-date rule. Her system backfires when she meets a nice guy who defies the odds and her rules.
Is Uncle Jesse giving up his passion for music to make a movie? Well, not really Uncle Jesse, but John Stamos did tell The New York Daily News he’s working on a “Full House” movie. He explained, “I'm working on a movie idea, but it wouldn't be us playing us. I'm not 100% sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years.” Moviefone posted some genius casting suggestions: “Zac Efron as Jesse, Zach Galifianakis as Joey, Miley Cyrus as D.J., and Elle Fanning as Stephanie.” Efron seems a little young to be playing Jesse, but if Burr Steers could make us believe he was actually a young version of Matthew Perry, anything is possible.

Well-written review. this reminds me of “The Hangover” is a worthy entrant into the “guy movie” hall of fame. It’s got laughs, drugs, tomfoolery, bodily harm, strippers, and a Mike Tyson cameo. The movie is about a trip to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, and the events of which are recounted as the characters sober up, and look into payday loans to cover the money they spent. Films detailing "lost weekends" spent in Sin City are becoming a genre unto themselves, as the town is noted for a touch of Bacchanalian excess, with tradition extending before Hunter Thompsons' landmark novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Still, there ought to be plenty of payday cash for the producers if receipts match "The Hangover" reviews.
