I’m always excited to hear that a new trailer has hit the Internet, but I was especially elated to find out there’s finally a full version of the trailer for “2010.” All of the questions I found myself asking after watching the teaser have been answered. The problem is, I don’t know if they were the answers I was hoping to get.
As with any end-of-the-world film, directors run the risk of devoting too much attention to the special FX and not enough to the dialogue. I was reminded of a number of other apocalyptic films like “Independence Day,” “Deep Impact,” “War of the Worlds” and “Knowing” but never got the sense that “2012” was going to be something unique.
I don’t want to completely knock this film. The majority of moviegoers, including myself, are simply suckers for a disaster film. Who doesn’t love seeing precious landmarks ravaged by cataclysmic events?
