What does it tell you that a silly, badly-performed bit of drivel like "High School Musical 3" pulled in an amazing $42 million this weekend and "Saw V", which wasn't even screened for critics, a sure sign a film is a dog, and good movies like "Changeling" and "Pride and Glory" (despite its bland title), are left in the dust. For one thing, it tells you that any movie with a TV series behind it, especially one appealing to pre-teen audiences or some young high schoolers, is a surefire hit, just as any movie with the name "Beverly Hills" in its title will also lure crowds, even if it deals with talking dogs. But we keep on, hoping folks will see the movies we recommend. Sometimes they actually do!
