Looks like Johnny Depp and Tim Burton may be working together for the seventh time. Ain't It Cool is reporting Depp could be playing the Mad Hatter in Burton's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland." As the late, lamented Ed Wood would say -- "That's perfect!"
According to ‘The Hollywood Reporter,’ ‘Splinterheads’ is set to begin production next month. The carnival themed comedy stars Rachel Taylor as a carnie con artist. She is best known for her role as the computer wiz in ‘Transformers.’ Her counterpart is a slacker played by Thomas Middleditch. Co-stars include Lea Thompson and Christopher McDonald.
Not really a casting notice as much as a 'green light', but Variety is reporting a biopic on the influential all-girl rock band "The Runaways" is on the way. No actresses are attached to the film yet, but Floria Sigismondi is signed on to write and direct. River Road Entertainment will finance the film, about the popular all-female 70s group that launched the careers of Joan Jett and Lita Ford.
Continuing Hollywood's 'Everything 80s' mood lately, MGM is resurrecting the Robocop franchise. Ordinarily, this wouldn't really float my boat. But the fact that Darren Aronofsky is apparently directing it has me thinking this could be somethin' good.
