One can only imagine how Dave Gibbons feels about the upcoming "Watchmen" movie. The co-creator of the classic comic book series has seen production start and stop several times over the past 20 years. But according to Gibbons, Zack Snyder appears to have figured out what Terry Gilliam, Paul Greengrass and Darren Aronofsky couldn't: How to successfully bring the dystopian superhero tale to theaters.
Being a huge comic geek, I can't tell you how cool it was to be able to talk with the legendary artist for awhile. I also asked him what he thinks about his partner Alan Moore's decision to disavow himself from the "Watchmen." Moore's a longtime Hollywood hater and has said he won't see ANY movie based on his work. Gibbons addresses that at the end of our interview.
