The floor of the San Diego Convention Center was jam-packed with fanboys & girls browsing the gazillion booths pitching and selling everything from video games to original art to the reason the Con was created for, comic books.
But it's become as much about movies as anything else. Unfortunately, the start of the first big Hollywood panel of the Con - the 20th Century Fox one - has been delayed by more than a half hour due to 'technical difficulties' not explained in much detail by Con workers.
I'm sitting here in Hall H, which is the massive room here where all the big presentations happen (it seats 6,500 people and every seat is taken already). Folks here are waiting for the cast from "The Day The Earth Stood Still" remake and the video game adaptation "Max Payne" to arrive.
Fanboy legend Keanu Reeves is expected, as is Mark Wahlberg. I'll write up the panel once it finally gets underway. The crowd is actually being very patient with the big delay, but I imagine the natives will get restless soon if they don't get some starpower. Don't know about you, but I wouldn't want a room full of plastic light-saber holding people getting angry. You wouldn't like them when they're angry.
